Thakurdeo Rampersaud is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who has over 15 years of experience in finance and accounting.  Thakurdeo has had many roles in his career as an Accountant from Staff Accountant to Accounting Manager and eventually Director of Finance for Hyatt Vacation Ownership. As the Director of Finance, Mr. Rampersaud develops accounting procedures that allow the company to stay abreast of its ever-changing financial situation. He ensures that budget dollars are spent properly and that all accounting information is up-to-date and relevant. Mr. Rampersaud oversees the financial operations of the large corporation.   • Complete 150 hours of classroom instruction. Most CPAs complete this requirement for all CPAs in their undergraduate or graduate studies. Some schools have programs that allow students to combine their graduate and undergraduate studies into one program specifically for CPAs.
  • Gain experience. Thakurdeo Rampersaud worked as an accountant for two years before he was eligible to take the series of CPA exams. This is the standard practice in almost all states in the United States. Many recent graduates interested in becoming CPAs take low-level positions that are relatively easy to obtain to satisfy this requirement.
  • Pass the exams. To be a CPA, Thakurdeo Rampersaud had to pass four exams prepared by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. These exams test aspiring CPAs on complex accounting subjects like attestation and financial reporting.
